Admissions Policies / Requirements
Each applicant seeking to enter one of the courses offered
by Beauty College of America must meet the admissions
requirements for the purpose of study for the course
they apply for.
Basic/Advanced Cosmetology -
1500 Hours
Requirements:
Good Health
Positive Recommendation (Staff)
High School Diploma Or G.E.D Certificate
Be at Least 17 Years Of Age
Identification:
Valid Drivers License Or Birth Certificate
Social Security Card
I-555 Immigration Card (If Applicable)
Manicuring - 525 Hours
Requirements:
Same As Basic Cosmetology
Teacher/Instructor Training -
1500 Hours
Requirements:
High School Diploma / G.E.D Certificate
Basic Cosmetology Certificate From A State Approved
School Of 1500
Clock/Unit Hours
Current Master Of Cosmetology License
Positive Recommendation (Staff)
Twelve (12) Months Of Board Approved Work Experience

Transfer Students
The Beauty College of America accepts transfer students
from any other school in the United States.
Requirements:
The student cannot be currently actively enrolled in
another school.
The student must have earned at least 100 clock/unit
hours from the prior school.
The student must provide a notarized transcript of hours
and credits with a GPA of 75% ( C ).
The transcript must break down the unit hours earned
into categories.

particular course of study that the student is applying
for.
CURRICULUM
Basic Advanced Cosmetology
The basic/advanced cosmetology course is designed to
provide students with a sound background for a career
in professional beauty culture, hairstyling and cosmetology
upon the courses completion.
Upon completion of the basic/advanced course, students
are awarded a diploma by the school and are qualified
to participate in the state cosmetology board examination.
Passing both practical and written examinations, the
student will receive a master’s cosmetologist license.

Course Breakdown Students in this program will receive
training in the following areas as defined by the Georgia
State Board:
Theory - 150 Hours
Styling Techniques - 375 Hours
Permanent Waving - 200 Hours
Hair Coloring - 170 Hours
Hair Cutting Techniques - 155 Hours
Chemical Relaxing - 100 Hours
Facials, Makeup and Arching - 90 Hours
Hair and Scalp Treatments - 85 Hours
Laboratory - 50 Hours
State Board Laws, Ethics, Charm - 50 Hours
Manicuring, Pedicuring, Nails - 45 Hours
Additional Instruction Areas - 30 Hours
Total = 1500 Hours
Teacher / Instructor Training
The teacher/instructor training course is designed to
give teacher trainees the basic knowledge to provide
effective instruction to students.
Upon completion of the teacher/instructor training
course, trainees are awarded a diploma by the school
and are qualified to apply for the teacher examination
to receive their license.
